Video Hosting services  as the infamous Youtube are more than just a place to stick your bands footage. Here are a few of the positives from choosing these services to put your latest recording or gig footage. With Youtube you can add a link to each video description you upload. This will benefit your website with extra backlinks and a viewer of your video has the option to click the link and go straight through to your site. As mentioned in Content Management systems and web hosting, with using those media hosting services you will automatically hand over the hosting issue to them.

This tool is a part of the music marketing tools directory, see what tools could help your band.

Muzu.tv is also covered in our guide on page 53 – Muzu marketing ideas

From their website description: “Watch official music videos, documentaries, TV shows, interviews, behind the scenes, tutorials and loads of exclusive and rare footage.”

Currently this website is sat around the 50,000 mark on Alexa. With that number, we can guess that it has a very small percentage of visitors compared to the likes of Last.FM, Myspace and Youtube which all offer video capabilities. So is it worth signing up for, well this is a question many a marketer ask themselves. Obviously the back link(Once Registered) you put on your bands profile, could help Search Engine Rankings. I am not a big believer in leveraging this strategy so involving yourself and dedicating some time to each service or tool no matter if it is a social one or not is something to aim for and optimize.

Muzu offers one great advantage over other Video Hosting services and that is its interactivity choices with’music listeners’/fans. They are able to upload a fan video of a song you have played live or even add their own images as a fan made music video. Can’t that be done everywhere else? Muzu have added some extra features which allow the videos they upload to be added to the bands official profile on the website. It has given more opportunities for the band to spread content as it is being handed on a plate, it can be shared and embedded on to a website.

It is another music service which offers royalties for the amount of plays. The precise amount is not known by us but expect pennies for a few thousand video plays. Either way, we appreciate the handful of original features Muzu.tv offers and would consider it for a bands video marketing strategy.
