TweetHead to www.google.com and search for your chosen FTP program.  For this part of the guide however , http://filezilla-project.org/ will be used.  There are also browser based File Transfer Protocol solution’s such as FireFTP.  Filezilla is a popular choice amongst web developers and it is one of the ones we will show you how to navigate.

Choose which client’s are most up to date and download relevant to your operating system.

Once downloaded, head to the specific download folder and begin the install.

Now the installation is complete, lets have a quick look around the programme.The black space is the connection being shown as it is happening. Approving the user name, password etc is a part of this section. You will receive a good or bad response depending upon the hosting/ftp details that are inputed.The red space is your disk space tree.  How your pc’s documents and files are ordered is shown here, just as you look through them every other day.The green space is the folders and tree of your hosting’s space.The blue space is the live process of the files being transferred from one place to the other.

The red splashes of text are where you enter your hosting’s domain.  So if your hosting has the domain mybandrocks.com connected as it’s main domain then this is what you enter.  More will be brought up about this later on, at the moment we are merely looking.Along with that you have your username and password you created as a part of hosting.  It should be the same as what you use to log in later to your hosting providers control panel and what you input during automatic uploads with files later on.They are in put next to your Host: and will gain you access to the space you have purchased.
