So here is what Search Engine Optimization means

Online SEO is optimization of the key words used within your websites code so that in return you get more search engine traffic to your site.

Alternatively; What can be done on the pages of a website to maximize its performance in the search engines for target keywords, related to the on page content.

There are two forms of SEO, ONPage and OFFPage.

What can be done off the pages of a website to maximise its performance in the search engines for target keywords related to the on page content and key words in off page direct links.

Ther are a few form routines in content optimization(Letting bot’s find your content by highlighting particular words in code) and back linking(Your site on other web pages. People sharing = Popularity of Website) which in return will result in your brand/domain being found if anyone searches for any part of you. Autonomous Industry not only show’s you benefit’s of SEO but also optimization of the services you will be using during your brand’s life, they have search engine’s too! The content you will be optimizing could be song lyrics, band member’s names, the instrument’s you use, where you have played anything else you are attached too.  Here are a few examples of what will be successful with the completion of this category and it’s routine continued.

Example 1

Your band is on a soundtrack, the song is on at a point some people hopefully are captivated. What i’m going to do as that band with that song is SEO that movie’s soundtrack, SEO the movie itself, SEO the song and SEO the lyrics and for anything related to that movie to do with music. You then may have people coming for a lyric and they will find you, or searching for that soundtrack for a christmas present, they might find you.

Example 2

Say someone remixes a song of yours and puts it on to Youtube or Soundcloud.  Republish a page on your website/blog/forum with your name, the remixer’s name and any other vital information on the song or the creation of the remix.

I make the other  artist as well as the song and a few more things ‘mine’ via content, correct keywords and that’s about it.

Example 3

If your going to play at a festival or have just completed a festival appearance, even if it was the smallest tent there, you are freely available to broadcast this information on a part of your website.  The outcome here is that if someone searches for the particular festival and you, your going to be top if done correctly and not the festival.  Playing on the same day as an upcoming band with a big following, get on their bandwagon too and add more information to the festival page, or make a new one with them in mind.

What you should be beginning to understand will hopefully click with the following step by step and of course it’s not the ONLY thing you do for your band but it’s definatley something to add to a routine of oddjobs or bring in to your content creation, then it will work for you without you even thinking too much about it.  Just incase, here are the three steps I see to including SEO in a routine.

1. 1. Think about what you know, have done, are attached to.
2. 2. Apply Your Experience (Brainstorm keywords/Important Words to the Subject).
3. 3. Then make it your own (Create a page with following guidelines).

Music Styles and Keywords

To start off with your keyword ideas your going to implement your geographical phrases and words on your site.  After that and your band name, it’s pretty much up to you and the niche you are about carve out, whether you like this or not.  As with search engines, every social service you utilize will be able to search for you somehow.  Tagging your registered account with music styles is a step in the whole process.  Get inspiration from your friends, those who have listened to many genres of music and using this list to see if you can branch out to help your overall marketing plan.
