You can get alot of backlinks through already busy blogs and forums, simply register and begin to interact while leaving your backlink around their web presence. Head straight to subject areas you already know, or are keen on, or something you know alot about. If you seem interested when your posting its not going to be seen as spam! Were as adding loads of friends on myspace will seem like spam! So for the backlinks just put a signature to your band and on blogs put it into where you register and then every post on each website you have chosen is another backlink to your website. Thus people have the opportunty to see it there and then and act. Or even if its there to act as a backlink it will increase the rank of your website with the major search engines and google ideally.. They do count how many other sites there are and how many they find you on, so spread the domain out.

You could even make your usernames, bandnamedotcom so that you dont have to put a signature or url to your site everytime as people will see this with your post and realise what it means.

Just like above, you are attempting to have some form of input and interaction on the chosen websites.  This is web2.0 in flow.  W the amount of open source forums available, we will only show you how to change your signature.  .  Head for your user name’s control panel and it will be right there hopefully.

Type in your url and your catch line.

Highlight the url and click the chain button  Here you input the title and the link to your page, this makes sure everything works.

·Click update, now every time you post a new reply or topic within that forum, your signature as below will be shown to everyone on that same forum.
