Select the button you wish to use, for example purposes i have gone for the top option. Next choose where your button will be placed. For this example i am adding it to WordPress. If you just wish to put it on a page for website then there is still an option for this.
Fill out your band’s information, with ShareThis you can still use your own name to create an account and then run multiple domain’s within.
The next step will ask you to download the plugin for WordPress and then to follow a few more instructions.
Once you have saved the zip file to your bands folder on your pc then open up your FTP client and head to your domain’s folder. Navigate to your wordpress/blog folder and then wp-content.
Within wp-content you should see the folder ‘plugins’, this is where you will be putting your unzipped ShareThis plugin.
Right click, copy and paste it into the plugins folder on the right, you may have to hover over a file however as you can accidently place things within folders you are not aware of.
After you had clicked to get your button on the ShareThis website you should have been given this bit of code, copy it now for later use.
Login to your WordPress blog and head to Installed plugins.
Scroll down to where you see ShareThis and activate that plugin.
On the left of your control panel within WordPress you should see the Settings tab. Lower that with the arrow and click on ShareThis plugin.
Paste the previously copied code into the box provided and choose where you wish to see the ShareThis plugin and update the options. If you head to your blog or website, there should now be a button people can use to share how they wish.
