With the routine later on in the guide you will see how you will write your content and publish it across the internet.  Depending on the importance of the news you will have many different levels of publication to think about.  Now unless you do nothing but make a Twitter comment about something irrelevant, then everytime you write content for any other service or part of your website.  Feel free to include the news on Last.FM, as no matter how random the news may be your creating a backlink to your website and also a very quick update to search engines.  What i mean by this is that if your news from your website or the page the content is on is not searched by search engine bots, your site will fail to come up in search results obviously, which is a bad thing.  I have seen a few examples of news by bands being found on search engines through music services, Last.FM mostly as it’s such a powerful site.  With the backlink to your site on the summary of the post you submitted it should surely be scanned by bots one day.

A strategy you could develop on is sharing Last.FM’s scrobbler.  As you can use last.fm on any pc and mobile it’s a good service to put effort in to.  If you are giving away an EP or single or whatever  amount of songs you have, you can stick the Last.FM scrobbler installer in with it all and a readme or mini poster advertising what it does.

If you have not heard of Last.FM before, the scrobbler is a widget you have connected to your music player of choice or as an app on your mobile.  Everytime you listen to a song through your library it goes through the scrobbler and updates a page the song and artist are on.

So by scheduling the use of the Last.FM scrobbler to fans who might not have it but use it when they listen to your music, you are then sure to receive a boom in listeners on last.fm.  Trying to control this is not a bad thing and it means you could end up on The Hype Chart as below.  Works on a weekly basis and this week, rising just 300% for seven days will get you in the top 10, where im sure plenty of people navigate too.
