TweetAnother video service for you, but this one is aimed at just music videos. Like the new Vevo.com which is only available in America, they provide a high video quality service with some user features you can definately work with. I will come to the benefits of it’s features in a minute, first there may be a monetary benefit right on the horizon. As Muzu.tv is ad based to create money, they are in the midst of sharing a percentage with the bands which use their service. The little detail’s i do know are that it is going ahead or has started. Here is an email from their support staff;
“The way it works is that from all revenue generated (on site or embed) IMRO/PRS take 8%, MUZU take 20% of the remainder to cover the cost of streaming the videos and the remaining profit is split 50/50 with the owner. The money is redeemable once it has hit €250 net.”
I have not come across any financial estimates from any band or promoter on Muzu.tv but i did read a blog which estimated that Lady Gaga had accumulated approximately $20-$30 for a year on the service. So look at it as a bonus, very menial one at that but could be the petrol to a gig once every few years.
The feature i would like to bring forward is the FanTV upload section. It is a main link within your artist’s page. You can make the visitor of the site land on whichever page you wish, videos, fantv, and playlist. I would suggest your own videos as you can advertise the FanTV with an embeddable widget on your own site.

From the main page i selected Florence + The Machine from a few which where offered, she seems to be big at the moment.
It is set to automatically land on her video’s, which i didn’t mind as her music is upbeat and to my tastes. The Fan Uploads and Fan TV highlighted show that they are a big part of your band’s available catalogue ideas. Her profile only has two uploads from one fan but these have had a few watches between them.
With the amount of videos created and uploaded to YouTube i would have thought that there would be a few more. The other side to the story is that i don’t see any bands trying to promote this feature.
I see it helping with future digital media which can be used by the band and it’s foremostly an organiser for your fan’s visuals, just like the Photobucket.com group folder. To make this branch work for you, it needs to be also advertised on your website. As noted you can use the embeddable video’s or widgets from your admin panel and put them on a main link on your website under ‘Contribute’ or ‘Your Media’. As written about in your Web Interface section, choosing where to put the external services requires some thought. To quickly grasp the concept i would use no more than nine external services as this is just beyond the reach of us taking the choices in. Stick to one service each for your music/images/video unless you wish to put below or above them the contribute groups you have set up on Photobucket.com and Muzu.tv. Throughout a website i would broadcast one large and one small social service, one music, image and video service and then any other service tools you may need on other pages. You can share with the majority of these which is great but i also use a stand alone sharing button by ShareThis.com.
Don’t stop there either, what happens right in front of you at live events is what is happening at the other end here. Why not mention it at gigs, “We have an upload section on your website “.
