Twitter is there for your smaller updates sometimes referred to as micro blogging, but this does not mean they have less value than a blog post. You can link to content of high quality, say the little things right or simply get a point across. Either way, it’s there for you to take advantage of. You may not find heaps of new followers but you may apease some loyal fans of yours who use Twitter.
As it’s a potential communication tool between you and your fans, if they have something to say they might bring it up there. you can reply or even retweet what they have linked to or added.
There are many services which utilize Twitter, specially those that update for you from other websites. Below this guide will show you how to register and then edit your design so you have somewhere to start from. The app we are using to amend your look is Colour Lovers and is something web developers may also use to find decent colour combinations for their website creations.
Head to twitter.com and click on the Sign up now button.
Your bands name, username, password and e-mail of which use admin@ again to register with.
Also un tick ‘Let others find me by my email address’. This is because its neat to use admin@ for registering with services as you can keep on top of emails and information through specific pre fixes.
The next three steps may need to be skipped as you will probably not have anyone on the email you have registered with.
That’s it, your page is now created, you may wish to change the design and activate your account at your email address.
To change the look, go to Settings tab at the top of the page.
Then design tab and Themeleon link on the bottom left. This will connect you with Colour Lovers and you can use/edit some of their pre made background designs and colour palletes.
Login with your account again.
Once logged in, Allow the permission for Colour Lovers and Twitter to work together.
You have Backgrounds, Colours and Pallettes to edit, play around with them and you will see live updates of what it should look like on your profile.
Once you have clicked Save, head back to your profile and the changes should be made.
